Sonakshi Sinha is one Bollywood actress who has not explored her acting potential as much as she could have. We all have seen her playing a hero’s love interest in all her movies till date but now she is all ready to surprise her fans.

The era of biopic is at its peak in Bollywood and 28 year old actress Sonakshi Sinha is the latest to join the club. Sonakshi Sinha is all set to play the infamous Haseena Parkar in her upcoming biopic named Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai. The news has spread like wild fire more because of the fact that Haseena Parkar was underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister and died last year in July.

Haseena Parkar had hit the headlines in 1991 post her husband Ismail Parkar was shot down in a gang war by Arun gawli’s gang resulting into a retaliatory bloodshed by the Dawood gang.

Dawood Ibrahim has a total of twelve siblings and it is well known that he was closest to his sister Haseena. Haseena Parkar is known as a underworld queen and used to stay with his 21 year old son and passed away at an age of 55 by a massive heart attack.

Considering the role she is about to play, Sonakshi who has recently lost some weight might have to put back some kilos before she is ready to portray the character to the core. It is also interesting that the role was first supposed to be played by Rani Mukherjee but things did not work out well and it then came to Sonakshi; someone’s loss is someone’s gain indeed.

The film is being produced by Mubina Rattonsey and is being directed by Shootout at Lokhandwala fame Apoorva Lakhia. Sonakshi has been a part of a movie based on underworld before, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara in which she essayed the role of Dawood’s love interest.

Sonakshi is currently shooting for Akira and confirmed the news on the micro blogging website Twitter post the music composer Shekhar Ravjiani congratulated her for her next project. Shooting of Haseena will go on floors early next year and will showcase forty years of Haseena Parkar’s life, emotional story of a woman who happened to be Dawood’s sister.
