Forget the X Factor and The Voice. If you're not into those programs or find them difficult to watch - or you just simply like your Music a little bit more cutting edge then you might be interested in some of the acts we're about to feature in this article. You might not have heard of them now, but as we head into 2015 you'll definitely want to put them on your playlists.

Flights of Helios

Flights of Helios are an Oxford based drone pop outfit, who specialize in understated, yet beautifully morose music, perfect for those people who like their pop with a little tinge of sepia to it.

This last yera has seen them release two singles - in March, "Factory", a song based on the Alejandro Gonzalez film "Biutiful" and in October "Succubus". Managed by PinDrop Publicity, the group have had critical acclaim and appeared on the BBC Introducing Stage at this year's Glastonbury.

Static Future

Glaswegian outfit Static Future are another act to watch as we head into the new year. It's been some time since their last EP "Marseille" came out, but earlier this month they followed up with a brand new release "Assembly", a perfect collection of four original songs that imbue  everything that is truly great about good indie pop. The group manage to combine brilliantly syncopated beats with strong vocals and earlier this year had a very successful gig at King Tut's Wah-Wah Hut in Glasgow.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Co-pilgrim

The brainchild of Mike Gale and friends, Southampton's Co-pilgrim released their latest album "Pilgrims" earlier this year and it's a perfect release for anyone who has a penchant for beautifully melancholic folk tinged loveliness. Standout song from the album is without a doubt "Pushover" which had a lovely, sparky part animated video to accompany it.

Next year Gale will be working on releasing some solo material, but in the meantime get "Pilgrims" on your January playlists.

These three acts are sure to make big waves during the next year, all very different in style and tone but all equally deserving of your
